Our Mission

We exist to do for other small businesses what we spent 20 years doing from the inside — building the teams, the culture, and the operational backbone that turns a good company into a great one.

Founder Bio - Dawn Hopp

I've spent my entire career in and around the DOD small business community in Dahlgren — starting as a junior engineer and working my way through program management, business development, and ultimately a Director role at a company that achieved what so many small businesses aspire to: graduating to large.

Growing programs from fewer than 20 people to 300+ didn't happen by accident. It happened through the unglamorous, essential work that keeps contracts running and customers satisfied — proposal writing, hiring, transition planning, and the invisible labor that makes everything else possible.

What that journey taught me is where I belong. I love the small business environment. The agility, the culture, the sense that everyone in the building knows why the work matters. Building and sustaining that — through growth, through recompetes, through the hard seasons — turns out to be what I'm best at. And it's what I'm most passionate about bringing to others.

What makes that support different is where I started. My first decade was spent as an engineer, deeply immersed in the programs I'd later help manage. I never lost that technical grounding. It's what allows me to sit with a customer, understand the objectives, and write or manage to that reality — not just the contract.

I started Ardent Mission Partners for the companies in that sweet spot of small business — the ones with real potential, building strong teams, doing the technical work, earning customer trust — who just need an experienced hand. I know this journey from the inside. And I know how much the right support, at the right moment, can change the outcome.
